Natty Hatty
Slang for: Natural Hat Trick
A natural hat trick in hockey is when a single player scores three goals in a row, uninterrupted by any other player scoring for either team. There can be some variation on the strictness of the definition:
- Strictest definition: All three goals must be scored in the same period.
- More common definition: The three goals simply need to be consecutive throughout the game, regardless of period.
Either way, it's an impressive feat for a player to net three unanswered goals. The NHL record for the fastest natural hat trick is a mere 21 seconds, set by Bill Mosienko in 1952 for the Chicago Blackhawks
Why were we crazy enough to start a clothing company?
It all began in on an unseasonably warm December evening when founder Tom called his bud Kyle with what seemed like an urgent question; “Why isn’t there any cool hockey gear out there?”
The man made a hell of a point.
Everything else out there was so boring. It felt like a crime against the sport that they both love which has such a rich history of characters, it’s own vocabulary and is the official/unofficial sport of their beloved home, Minnesota, that they had to do something.
Then the true stroke of genius; Tom said, “And I know what we should call it:….”
(pregnant pause for effect)
“Natty Hatty”
Kyle didn’t say a word for well over a half a minute. For those of you who have had the pleasure, if you leave him speechless you’ve really done something.
Kyle finally came to: “It’s perfect”
And just like that, Natty Hatty was born.
